Can you imagine an plane taking off from an airport with no destination set?

Can you imagine it flying around aimlessly until it ran out of fuel and dropped from the sky?

I can’t, yet so many people are like this aeroplane.

They fly around aimlessly in life, never really going anywhere or achieving anything until they run out of fuel.

Does it make you wonder why some people are so exceptionally successful, yet others are not?

It is because of goals.  The goals you set are your map and flight plan.

If you don’t know where you are going, how will you know when you are there?  If you don’t know what you want, how will you know when you have got it?

Your goals not only tell you where you are going, but tell you when you are there.  They give you something to work towards and a target to aim for.

I am sure there is a time in your life when you really worked towards something you wanted and were passionate and motivated about it.  Once a lot of people hit their goals, they drift around for a while, confused and unsure where to go next.

When you get to one set of goals, move the destination, advance them and push yourself on further.

For example, if your goal is to earn $1000 a month, when you reach it, shift the goal to earn $2000 a month.  Then when you hit that, move it on to $4000 a month.

Your goals need to be big enough to challenge and stretch you, but not unattainable.  If you set goals that are out of the question for you, you may well give up because they seem unattainable.  If they are just out of your reach, they will stretch you and get you used to working towards goals.

Likewise, if your goals are too easy, you won’t feel challenged enough to work towards them and will drift around again.

Whatever you want in life, you need goals, whether these are for a great family, a fantastic job, more income or an amazing relationship.  With a good set of goals, you will have your destination set, can plan your flight path and achieve your dreams.

Goal setting will help you achieve your dreams.  With the help of a good goal setting program you can achieve anything in life.  There are no limits except those you choose to accept.  Setting and achieving goals is something you can do, and much easier than you perhaps think.

I love the idea of having my kids start their own blog.

*** BUT….Is It SAFE? ***

SisterLisa Bertolini has put together an amazing ebook as a guide for parents on how to get your children blogging safely.

Prelude To A Blog - Safe Blogging For Kids

Prelude To A Blog - Safe Blogging For Kids

She walks you through each step from creating the idea, to the blog name, to where to host it, to how to keep the blog rolling.

But most importantly she shows you how your child can make sure to keep her morals in check on her blog, how you can keep an eye on the content as her parent, and how to remain true to herself and her faith.

It can be a very scary world on the internet, but SisterLisa will show you and your child how to keep blogging safe and beneficial to your child’s spirit.

It is a Christian perspective on blogging, but any denomination or even non-denomination will get great benefit out of this incredibly useful guide to blogging.

Thank-you SisterLisa for helping us parents to get our kids blogging safely rather than just sitting infront of the TV or X-box all day long! ;o)
