Summer is coming nearer and garage sales are starting to pop up all over the place!

Now’s the time to start your own kid business. Here’s how:

- decide what your garage sale business will be: lemonade stand, ice tea, hot coffee and donuts? How about something different like: face painting or jewelry making?

- next scope out the neighbourhood for the ‘garage sale’ signs. Then go knock on their door (together with your parents) and negotiate the right to sell your business wares at their garage sale in exchange for either a commission of the money you make or a fixed rental fee.

- see how many garage sale owners say yes.

- line up some friends or siblings or both to ‘man’ your businesses for you. Give them either a commission or fixed rate for running your stands. Make sure they are customer-friendly. You want to make sure that the garage sale owner is happy with this arrangement so they will want you back in the future and will spread good word of mouth free advertising for your business.

- Have Fun! Make Money! Manage it well! Share the wealth! (give a small portion to your favourite charity.

Hope you enjoyed this tip!

There is ‘Good Debt’ and there is ‘Bad Debt’.

Bad Debt is Debt that takes money away from you and makes you work harder to repay it.

Good Debt is Debt that brings money to you and makes your money work hard for you.

Huge Difference! If you find an investment or business venture that will pay you MORE than you pay for the loan, then that is Good Debt! But where do you get the money from? Maybe the people at www.nationalpayday.com can help.

I have no affiliation with them, I don’t get a commission when you get a loan.

I just liked their open-mindedness to using Debt for Good rather than Bad.

Enjoy their article! ;o)

Investing When We Have No Money – Guest Post

When you are in school, especially at a college level, it is essential to start to think about your finances and how they will affect your life once you have graduated and gone on to a career in whichever field you have chosen.

Loans are very normal for college students as the price for education goes up every year and many students feel that they need these loans to have a comfortable life while attending school. But eventually, you will have to pay down these loans, but there are options for re-payment that may help you to pay down your debt.

When we are young, we often live very inexpensively and we have a lust for life that we may slowly lose as we grow older. Youth is a great time to take advantage of your life, especially when it comes to investing in ventures that we see that can make use very rich one day.

Often these ventures, such as investing in a fledgling business on campus or backing a friend’s new company, require money. Usually, it is ill-advised to take out loans, but sometimes, a payday loan can be just enough to get us in on the ground floor of a new venture that will lead us to a comfortable living down the road.

Taking a loan may set you back in interest costs, but if you can use it to create even more income for yourself then it can also change your life depending on the opportunities that are available to you.

In the Internet age, many of the larger, more successful startups were concocted during college years (think Bill Gates) and if it weren’t for young investors taking educated chances financially by taking out loans or asking for money to create these opportunities, these companies may have never even gotten off the ground.

Money is the key to investing and it often takes a loan to get the ball rolling in a situation where we are not established and are a struggling college student. Just make sure your investment will pay you more than your interest payments cost you!

I’m not sure if you celebrate Easter
or not, but regardless, I sincerely
hope you had as great a weekend as I
just did with my family.

First the Easter Bunny set up a fun
treasure hunt in our house that had
our kids absolutely focused on finding
their treasure. ;o)

Then we had a wonderful family breakfast,
went next door to a maple syrup farm/
apple orchard and had a second Easter
egg hunt in the woods, as well as got to
show our kids how they make maple syrup.

And the weather was just gorgeous!

Then finished our weekend with a lovely
family dinner, all 12 of us! ;o)

I am so grateful and so thankful.

I hope you too had a wonderful weekend
with your kids. Let me know what you did.
I’d love to hear all about your own
Easter adventures. Or if you don’t
celebrate Easter then just let me know
how you enjoyed your weekend.

I’m almost ready to launch my new video
home-study course, “Teaching Children
About Money”. Thanks again to everyone
who helped me put this unique course
together. I really appreciated your help.

I’ll email you later this week, once I
have my video up. You’re gonna love
what the kids say in the video. It’ll
really make you laugh. They’re just so
cute! ;o)

Okay, have a great week.
